2016 Édition Limitée Pinot Noir Jeroboam
Our 2016 Édition Limitée Pinot Noir shows a delightful, intense ruby color. A pure bouquet of baking spices and dark berries leap from the glass. A touch of cedar and white pepper aromas meld effortlessly with the generous fruit flavors. Gently textured with fine-grained tannins, it is a vibrant and thoroughly delicious wine that leaves you with a lovely long finish.
After a mild winter, the 2016 growing season started with early budbreak and warm spring weather. June and July were calm, but August heat kept up the pace. September returned to the more mild climate that Oregon is known for, providing the perfect, gentle landing for a relatively early harvest. The 2016 wines are expressive, balanced and delicious.
The Édition Limitée Pinot Noir represents Véronique Drouhin’s soulful consideration of the family’s estate in the Dundee Hills. As a complement to her barrel selections (Louise, Laurène), Véronique has unearthed an estate selection Pinot Noir, a chance to highlight individual vineyard blocks that have something to say in a given vintage. Qualities such as nuance, potential, and character are learned over time. With more than 30 harvests in Oregon alone, Véronique is well on her way. In 2016, the EL Pinot Noir shows her full command of the vineyard, drawing from two blocks that she felt were destined for each other.
